Private Lessons:
All students take a weekly private lesson. These lessons are conducted one-on-one with the instructor working directly with the student. For children under the age of 10, parents are expected to act as a partner in the learning process. There is no "perfect age" to begin the study of music--students can be 1 year old or 101 years old as long as the joy of learning is present.

Group Classes:
Group classes are held weekly and are required for all students who are under the age of 18 and do not attend youth orchestra. These classes are an important time to develop the skill of playing in a group setting. Group class provides important motivation to students as they see the progress that their peers are making and they learn to be a positive member of the cello studio. Students who have reached an intermediate level may participate in the Acadiana Youth Symphony or UL Symphony in lieu of group classes.

Performance Class:
This is a monthly opportunity, usually the last Friday of the month, for students to perform a polished piece or a piece they are working on. This is an informal class and students are encouraged to make positive comments to other players after each performance. Proper performance etiquette is also practiced.

Recitals:
Formal recitals are usually presented at 10 am on the second Saturday of December and 10 am on the second Saturday of May. Students must dress up for these recitals and family and friends are encouraged to attend.
